Jamaican slangs and terminology


Here are some words and phrases in Jamaican dialect (Patois - pronounced, PAH-TWAH). The pronounciation for the terms are in brackets.

Yuzimi (U ZEE ME) - you understand me?

Dun know (DONE - KNOW) - you already know

Likkle more (LEEKLE MORE) - See you later

Wha gwan (WA-AH GWON) - Whats up?

Daggering (DA-GUR-ING) - Intercourse (the act of copulating)

Frass (FRRRR-ASS) - The state of being high or intoxicated

Fassy (FAH - SEE) - Unsavory person

Touch di road (TOUCH DEE ROAD) - Time to go on the road

Stick bruk inna yuh ears (STICK BRUH-CK IN AH U EARS) - Are you deaf?
